Today, Friday, a Palestinian boy was shot dead by the Israeli occupation army, while others suffocated during clashes in the south of the occupied West Bank.

And the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced, in a statement, the death of the child, Zaid Muhammad Saeed Ghoneim, 15, in the town of Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank.

The statement added that the boy was hit by two bullets fired by the occupation army in the neck and back.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that Israeli forces wounded about 90 people in protests in the occupied West Bank on Friday.

And Anadolu Agency reported that clashes erupted in the Umm Rakba area, south of Al-Khader, during which Ghoneim was wounded by Israeli army bullets, and he was taken to the hospital, where his injury was described as serious, before his death was announced.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the Israeli oppression, saying that residents are protesting against the expansion of Jewish settlements and the confiscation of Palestinian land.

The worst clashes took place in the town of Hawara in the central West Bank, near the city of Nablus.

In videos circulating on social media this week, footage emerged of Jewish settlers and Israeli soldiers lowering Palestinian flags in the town.

The Palestinian territories are witnessing great tension ahead of the Israeli flags march in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday.

The march is scheduled to pass through Bab al-Amud, one of the gates of the Old City, and cross the alleys of the town, interspersed with waving Israeli flags and chanting slogans, including "Death to the Arabs."

The Israeli police had announced that it had decided to deploy thousands of its members in East Jerusalem, to secure the march.

On Sunday, Israel will commemorate the 55th anniversary of its occupation of Jerusalem.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza warned of another war if the "flags" march passed through the Islamic Quarter in the Old City.
