A 43-year-old man was given a 14-month suspended prison sentence on Wednesday by the Créteil criminal court (Val-de-Marne) for aggravated violence, reports

Le Parisien

.

On January 28, this father working as a gardener at the town hall of Créteil had hit a doctor who had not wanted to give him sick leave.

10,000 euro fine

Informed of this refusal which he had considered unjustified, the man, very annoyed, had then slammed the door of the office.

The situation had finally escalated between the patient and the doctor.

Struck in the face, the practitioner had received twelve days of ITT.

He has not returned to work since.

The defendant's lawyer indicated that the first blow would have been carried by the doctor and therefore that some violence would be explained by self-defense.

Sentenced, the man will also have to pay a fine of 10,000 euros.
