Like every year, it smells good of spring and summer approaching, revisions of the Bac, and the clay court of Roland-Garros!

The 2022 edition of the Parisian Grand Slam tournament takes place from May 22 to June 5.

After a short week of competition at the Porte d'Auteuil, the favorites are present.

And we also have good surprises from our little French!

    World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will be present in the second week.

    In the round of 16, he will meet Argentinian Diego Schwartzman, 16th in the world.

  • Rafael Nadal, thirteen times crowned on clay in Paris, emerged clearly victorious from his left-handed duel with Frenchman Corentin Moutet, 139th in the world and guest, 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 in the second round of Roland-Garros Wednesday evening.

  • For a place in the round of 16, the world No.1, winner of Roland-Garros in 2020, will face Montenegrin Danka Kovinic (95th).

  • The phenomenon Carlos Alcaraz (6th), who had some scares in the 2nd round, will have the honors of the Friday night session on the Central.

    He will meet the American Sebastian Korda, 30th in the world.

  • Coco Gauff qualified for the round of 16 by beating Estonian Kaia Kanepi (6-3, 6-4).

  • After a first round in less than two hours, Alexander Zverev (3rd in the world) won a 3:36 marathon in the 2nd round by going back two sets before dismissing the Argentinian Sebastian Baez (36th) 2-6, 4-6 , 6-1, 6-2, 7-5, not without saving a match point on Wednesday.

    The 25-year-old German, finalist in Madrid and semi-finalist in Rome in recent weeks, will face American Brandon Nakashima (75th) to try to climb into the round of 16.

  • The legs will be heavy, but the future retiree Gilles Simon will be carried by the public on Saturday in the third round of his final Roland-Garros against the Croatian Marin Cilic, against whom he leads 6-1 in the results of their confrontations.

    "Statistically, he's a player who suits me well," admits the 37-year-old Frenchman, who is taking part in his 17th and last Major on clay before retiring at the end of the year.

  • Diane Parry confirmed her feat in the first round at the expense of defending champion Barbora Krejcikova by quietly dismissing Colombian Camila Osorio in the second to reach the third round of Roland-Garros.

  • Hugo Gaston, eighth-finalist at Roland-Garros two years ago, qualified without wasting time for the third round at the expense of the Argentinian Pedro Cachin (153rd) 6-4, 6-2, 6 -4 in just over two hours on Thursday.

    In the first round, Gaston (74th, 21 years old) had overcome the world No.20 Alex de Minaur in the super tie-break of the fifth set after a long fight of four hours.

  • Alizé Cornet, 40th in the world, qualified for the 3rd round of Roland-Garros on Thursday by defeating the 2017 champion, the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko (13th), 6-0, 1-6, 6-3 in 1h41 for the first match of the women's draw in the night session of the 2022 edition.

  • Léolia Jeanjean continues her fine career at Roland-Garros and offers herself a feat in the process!

    The 227th player in the world eliminated the Czech Karolina Pliskova, 8th in the world, 6-2, 6-2 on Thursday and won her ticket to the third round.

    Recipient of a wild card, the Frenchwoman, former hope of tricolor tennis, participates at 26 years in her first Grand Slam.

  • Richard Gasquet, 70th in the world, did not come across a great Sebastian Korda (30th), but he nevertheless came up against the American obstacle without finding a solution and lost 7-6 (7/5 ), 6-3, 6-3, Wednesday in the second round of Roland-Garros.

    "Honestly, it's more at the tennis level that I lost and not at all at the physical level", admitted the 35-year-old Frenchman

  • Long considered the heir to Yannick Noah, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has definitely put away his rackets after a final match at Roland-Garros, at the age of 37, at the end of a career full of blows and injuries to repetition.

    His record is one of the richest in French tennis: 18 titles, including two Masters 1000, a Davis Cup with the New Musketeers (Monfils, Gasquet, Simon) and prestigious victories against the greatest.
