Park Ji-hyeon, chairman of the Joint Emergency Response Countermeasures Committee of the Democratic Party, posted on social media yesterday evening explaining the reason for not attending the intensive campaign in Incheon.

Chairman Park explained that he had asked Chairman Yun Ho-jung to present a joint statement, but as a result, it was rejected.

The campaign statement said he would work on the five major renewal tasks: a younger Democrat and a stricter Democrat.

Chairman Park said that he did not attend the campaign because

he thought that it was an untrue attitude in front of the people to produce as if there were no problems on the surface even though no agreement was reached .

Earlier, Chairman Park posted a lengthy apology and apologized for holding a press conference without adequate discussion with the party leadership, and said he apologizes to the Democratic candidates running on the front lines and especially to Chairman Yun Ho-jung, who must have been hurt.

He wrote that the 586 withdrawal theory he had claimed also seemed to be misunderstood.

He held an emergency press conference and demanded a public apology and party reform, and it was interpreted that he had effectively surrendered the white flag three days later.

However, less than a day after the apology, the party's internal strife was revealed and the Democratic Party's internal red tape, which seemed to have been resolved ahead of the local elections, is showing signs of reappearing.
