In the absence or lack of agencies that guide university students and graduate students in the Arab world in their educational and scientific paths, the story of the educational clinic began in 2018 as a small group on the social networking site Facebook, with the aim of helping young Arab researchers in their university studies and then soon turned into a platform Educational is today among the largest educational platforms in the Arab world and the most interactive and enriching of scientific content.

Four years after its launch, the Education Clinic today attracts more than 110 thousand followers to the platform from various Arab countries, and continues to attract more students and young researchers as well as those interested in science and technology issues from the general public.

Various scientific disciplines

The educational clinic is supervised by a group of Egyptian scholars and researchers in various universities on the five continents, in addition to a group of advisory scientists who return to them when needed within what is known as the members of the Advisory Board.

Dr. Ramzi Abdel Aziz, the owner of the idea of establishing the clinic, and a researcher in nanosciences at Aalto University in Finland, said in a statement by phone to Al Jazeera Net, "This story began as an idea in order to help young Arab researchers by guiding and guiding them based on the long experience gained by the clinic's supervisors in various fields. Universities of the world.. We started with a small group on Facebook and today we have a large platform and it is constantly expanding.”

The name "Clinic" was chosen for this platform, because among its main objectives is to address the pedagogical problems and obstacles that students face in their scientific lives before and after joining the university.

Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Hafeez, one of the founders and a researcher in the Department of Physics at Harvard University in America, specializing in materials science, said in a statement to Al Jazeera Net via e-mail, "From the name, we discover that it serves as a clinic and a platform in which students who suffer from educational problems and need counseling meet."

Abdel Hafeez added, "Our goal is also to connect scientists and researchers in various universities of the world in order to transfer their experiences to members of the Arab community, by answering their inquiries directly and communicating with them, or in order to simplify science by hosting international scholars and professors in pictures of lectures. interactively or in the form of dialogues with the founders.

Among the scientists who were hosted on the educational clinic platform, Dr. Farouk El-Baz from NASA, Dr. Mohamed Tharwat Hassan, a researcher at the University of Arizona in the United States, who and his team discovered the Attosecond technology, and Tunisian Dr. Nader Masmoudi, Professor of Mathematics at New York University, all of whom contributed to enriching the scientific content and providing Advice for students and researchers.

Dr. Ramzi Abdel Aziz admits that choosing a destination or specialization is one of the most difficult and most important stages for a young student, and here comes the role of experienced researchers to provide advice and guidance. Founders and Advisory Board

Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Hafeez says, "A group of Egyptian scholars and researchers in the diaspora contributed to the establishment of the medical clinic, who spent a lot of their time, effort and money, so that this platform became one of the most important destinations for students and young Arab researchers wherever they are around the world."

Dr. Ramzi Abdel Aziz explains, "Among these founders, we find Dr. Ali Abdo, who currently holds the position of scientific advisor to the nuclear group at the American company Halliburton, which is one of the largest international companies in oil exploration, and leads the research and development of fast neutron sources, as he previously worked with Dr. Ahmed Zewail in The establishment of Zewail City for Science and Technology in Egypt since 2013, and he contributed to the establishment of its scientific programmes, laboratories and research centers, and had the honor of heading the Nanotechnology Engineering Department there.”

There is also Dr. Yasser Hassan, a nanotechnology researcher at the University of Toronto in Canada, Dr. Abdel Rahman Zakaria, who is currently an assistant professor at the Japan-Egypt Cooperation Center for Science and Technology at Kyushu University in Japan, and Dr. Mohamed Helmy, a researcher specializing in systems biology and bioinformatics at the Institute of Bioinformatics at the Agency for Science, Research and Technology in Singapore. Professor at the Department of Computer Science at Lakehead University in Canada, and researcher Mohamed Hammam, an assistant lecturer at Misr University for Science and Technology and general coordinator of the group.

Dr. Ramzi Abdel Aziz added that "at the end of 2021, a large group of volunteers joined the work team who believed in the mission and goals of the Foundation, and they provided followers with dozens of scientific articles and prepared and prepared for weekly and monthly meetings as well as courses."

The clinic's supervisors also established a "consultation council" that includes distinguished experts and researchers in various scientific fields, which they return to in time of need to provide advice and guidance.

Expansion and prospects for cooperation

In order to expand the network of its programs and enhance its presence, the educational clinic launched many cooperation initiatives with research and youth institutions. of doctors in Egypt.

He added, "The clinic also supports some conscious youth who contribute to providing rich scientific content on social media by referring to their distinguished content."

After formally announcing the establishment of the "Educational Clinic" in March 2022 as a non-profit organization in the United States, the Teaching Clinic launched lessons on the basics of scientific writing and scientific research methodologies provided by one of the founders, Dr. Mohamed Helmy, Professor of Bioinformatics at the University of Singapore.

Explaining the ways and prospects for expansion and cooperation, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Hafeez added, "We have created a YouTube channel to raise all the scientific meetings and courses that the educational clinic has begun to offer and prepare for, in order to serve as a strong addition to the Arab scientific content presented on various social media, both visual and written."
