While imprisoned since 2020 in Grenoble prison (Isère), a 24-year-old man is suspected of being at the head of a deal point in the Malherbe district.

After an investigation of nearly a year and a half, the drug trafficking was dismantled and nine people, including the main suspect and his 43-year-old mother, were arrested on Tuesday, reports France 3 Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.

Betrayed by his way of life

A search carried out at the home of the forty-year-old revealed that "her lifestyle was out of all proportion to her official resources", indicated the public prosecutor of Grenoble, Eric Vaillant.

She owned gold jewelry, luxury clothes and even a villa with a swimming pool for a total amount estimated at 825,000 euros.

The detainee and his mother were indicted for complicity in drug trafficking, non-justification of resources and money laundering.

The seven other suspects would have acted as dealers or nannies.

They will soon be summoned before an examining magistrate.

The investigation also made it possible to arrest ten people between June and July.

Seven of them were then indicted.
