The differences between a vented and non-vented air conditioner
Before installing an air conditioner in your home, you should understand the difference between an air conditioner with exhaust and an air conditioner without.
The latter does not have a refrigeration circuit.
It is thanks to the principle of hydrocooling that this type of device can cool a room.
In fact, the air passes through a filter wet with water, which has the effect of cooling it.
A fan then diffuses this cooled air into the room.
You should know that it is a less efficient system than the air conditioner with evacuation.
Indeed, air conditioners with an evacuation duct incorporate a refrigeration circuit.
Inside it, there is a refrigerant that recovers the hot air that is in the room.
The hot air calories are then rejected outside by the evacuation duct, which has the effect of lowering the temperature of the air.
Once cooled, it is therefore ventilated in the room.
How to drain the water from your portable air conditioner?
It is important to regularly drain the water from your mobile air conditioner, to help it work properly.
When the tank of the device is full, it emits a sound or light signal to warn you.
So it's time to clean up!
You should know that even if the water from the air conditioner is expelled through the drain pipe, there is always a little bit that flows into the drain pan.
Start by turning off the portable air conditioner before unplugging it.
Then detach the air exhaust duct, in order to be able to handle and move the device more easily.
It is then necessary to place a container under the drain plug, before opening it.
Once the tank is totally empty, all you have to do is throw the water in the sink or in a flower bed.
Replace the drain plug and the exhaust duct, then reconnect the air conditioner.
At the end of emptying, set your appliance to the ventilation function.
This allows you to dry it well before using the air conditioning function again.
This reduces the risk of mold in the air conditioner!
