According to Hong Kong's Sing Tao.com, a survey by the Hong Kong SAR Government's Statistics and Statistics Department found that the use of the Internet and smart phones in Hong Kong continued to spread, and the growth in the use of smart phones was particularly evident among the elderly.

In 2021, 73% of people aged 65 and over own a smartphone, up from 68.1% in 2020.

The use of the Internet continues to be widespread.

The percentage of people aged 10 and above who had used the Internet in the 12 months before the survey increased from 92.4% in 2020 to 93.1% in 2021.

The increase was particularly pronounced among those aged 65 and over (from 65.9% to 70.0%).

  Statistical survey results also show that the popularity of smartphones continues to grow.

The penetration rate of smartphones will increase from 92.1% in 2020 to 92.9% in 2021.

The growth in smartphone use has been particularly pronounced among older adults.
