Pickup crashed into a grocery store in Västerås - several people must have fled the scene

The incident took place at a grocery store in Bjurhovda, the night before Thursday.

The car must have traveled at high speed, driven on a refuge and a road sign to finally crash into one of the store building's walls.

- There is no suspicion that they tried to break into the store, but they seem to have driven too fast and lost control of the car, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.

During the morning, the place was cordoned off and in one of the store's walls you can see a large hole that was formed during the crash.

Several people are said to have run away from the scene, according to witnesses, the police say.

- It is unclear if anyone was injured.

We have reconciled with the hospitals in the area, but no injured people have been received, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.

The owner of the car has been contacted and the car was salvaged from the scene.

A report of infection from a traffic accident has been made.
