Park Ji-hyeon, chairman of the Joint Emergency Response Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea, said today (26th) regarding the disciplinary issue of Rep. Choi Kang-wook, who caused a controversy over sexual harassment remarks, "As the party's emergency response chairperson, I think that emergency disciplinary authority should be used if necessary."

Chairman Park said in a radio interview today, "I plan to discuss it with Ho-jung Yun, the chairman of the battalion, today."

Chairman Park added, "I think it is an inappropriate attitude to move on after the local elections on issues that need to be dealt with promptly."

Chairman Yoon made a de facto rejection of Chairman Park's request to complete the disciplinary procedure against Rep. Choi before the local election even by activating the emergency disciplinary authority yesterday, saying, "It is a non-subrogative decision to hand over the disciplinary procedure to the Ethics Tribunal."

In response, Chairman Park once again demanded early disciplinary action and put pressure on him.

Regarding the '86 generation (students in the 80's, born in the 60's),' which sparked a conflict yesterday, Chairman Park said, "I never said that everyone should retire. No. There are some people who make it difficult for the Democratic Party to change and keep pace with the times.”

He said, "The theory of resignation from the 86th generation was not included in the apology press conference, so there is a regret that it would be good if you could focus more on the contents of the innovation plan discussed at the conference."

When asked about his opinion on running for the local election after Song Young-gil, the leader of the 86th generation, announced that he would not be running for the next general election during the last presidential election, he said, "I have made the decision to resign as a member of the National Assembly, so I hope you will consider it." said.

Chairman Park repeatedly insisted, "If we have a different opinion, a fandom party is a party that does not allow criticism of politicians who support it or use text messages if they have a different opinion."

He said, "I received a lot of text messages while I was in the position of the non-chairman," he said.

Regarding Kim Yong-min, a member of the same party, who pointed out that 'you can't win the election with an apology', he said, "I think the opposite. I apologize again and again and while saying that I will change the Democratic Party, I feel that many people are looking at the Democratic Party." I am confident that it can arouse people's interest in the Democratic Party and raise the party's approval rating," he said.
