The staff of an NPO corporation that has been supporting people who have evacuated in the western part of Ukraine held a debriefing session in Tokyo, and prices have soared due to the rapid increase in evacuees there, and further support is needed mainly for the poor. He complained that he was in a situation.

"Look outside the fierce battle areas"

Since March, Kyoto Prefecture's NPO "Terra Renaissance" has dispatched staff to Ukraine and Hungary to continue activities to support evacuees, such as providing food and establishing soup kitchen bases.

Among them, Juntoru Sasaki (39), who was active in western Ukraine, held a debriefing session in Tokyo on the night of the 25th, and the number of people evacuating from the eastern part where the Russian army is intensifying the offensive has increased rapidly, and prices have doubled. I explained that the price is soaring nearby.

Along with this, there is a shortage of medicines and food, and further support is required mainly by the poor, so we will provide cash by having them do work such as cooking and making traditional crafts. It means that we are also starting to work on it.

Mr. Sasaki said, "I want you to look not only at the areas where the fighting is fierce, but also at the areas where evacuees are gathering and living in a difficult life."
