During his speech at a meeting at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic, he noted that before Russia carried out a military special operation in Ukraine in Belarus, they looked at the development of the army differently.
“We saw that we do not need to carry out such modernization as we swung at that time: very expensive and for our republic, generally unacceptable for our conditions.
We understood what kind of army we should have,” BelTA quotes Lukashenka.
Commenting on the actions of NATO near the borders of Belarus, the president of the republic noted that the alliance is conducting reconnaissance and development of a possible theater of military operations in the future.
