Peter Feldmann has truly earned his nickname after his most recent appearance in Römer.

The mayor of Frankfurt had to be mocked as “Pattex-Peter”.

Despite a long bar of misconduct, he sticks to his chair like no other politician before him.

Instead of declaring the resignation longed for by all city hall factions and many citizens after the vote of confidence in his until recently surprisingly long-suffering party, Feldmann goes one step further.

In all seriousness, the still comrade wants to follow the example of Tübingen's mayor Boris Palmer and only let his SPD membership rest until the end of his term in office.

But unlike Feldmann, the enfant terrible of the Greens is not under serious suspicion of corruption.

Feldmann, who won the election twice, sees himself as an unassailable people's tribune who, like Palmer, relies solely on the vote of the electorate.

The people of Frankfurt, who made him mayor twice, knew nothing at the time of their vote of the swamp of felt and nepotism that is now open.

Not to mention all the foreign shame moments of the past few days.

Feldmann has long since lost the trust of his voters.

But he himself denies this insight.

For how much longer?
