The Swedish security company Securitas has, among other things, the task of protecting the Armed Forces' headquarters where the top management works.

On Wednesday, SVT published the recordings where a manager at the security company Securitas tells about a visit to a brothel in Spain.

According to Säpo, knowledge about buying sex can be used for pressure purposes.

There are many indications that the Spanish sex industry is largely controlled by the Russian mafia.

This means that a person who buys sex can end up in a vulnerable situation that can be exploited by someone who wants to harm Swedish interests.

SVT has sought the Armed Forces' Commander-in-Chief Michael Bydén for an interview to ask questions about how the authority acted after SVT's revelation - but without results.

"Completely reprehensible"

Anders Engkvist is the navy's security chief.

In 2020, he received the Swedish Armed Forces' Security Profile of the Year award for his work to improve security protection and security awareness within the Armed Forces.

When SVT gets hold of Anders Engkvist, he does not want to stand up for an interview - but when he hears that the manager who is at the center of the revelation is the same Securitas manager who is responsible for the agreement with the Armed Forces, he reacts strongly:

- It is completely reprehensible.

That should not be the case.

It goes without saying, it's completely crazy.

It becomes a vulnerability on that individual, says Anders Engkvist.

He also says that all decisions about procurement are higher up in the organization.

A large part of Sweden's municipalities use Securitas' protection services.

So does SVT.

Previously, Securitas was responsible for, among other things, the Prime Minister's security.

Today, the company also protects the Police Authority and the Armed Forces.
