The statistics of the Ministry of Interior on the number of traffic accident deaths that occurred at the state level last year, according to age group and gender, revealed that males were the most victims of these accidents with 349 deaths, or 91.6% of the total 381 deaths, compared to 32 deaths of females, at 8.4%.

The statistics detailed the ages of victims of traffic accidents that occurred at the state level last year, indicating that the age group (18 to 30 years old), the most victims, with 160 deaths, or 42%, and in the second place the age group (31 to 45 years) with 134 deaths, or 35%, And the third category (46 to 60 years old) with 52 deaths.

The age group (over 60 years) came fourth with 16 deaths, the fifth age group (1 to 7 years) with 10 deaths, and finally the age group (8 to 17 years) with nine deaths.

A study conducted by Abu Dhabi Police earlier on women’s traffic accidents confirmed that “women drivers fall into traffic accidents for the same reasons as males, but the difference between them lies in the presence of causes of accidents in which one of them occurs more than the other, such as men causing accidents resulting from Driving recklessly and recklessly, while women do not drive in this way, and it is very rare that they fall into traffic accidents of this kind.”

In the same context, a report by the World Health Organization on the state of roads around the world stated that males are more likely to be exposed to traffic accidents compared to females, since the early stages of life, and about three quarters (73%) of deaths caused by traffic accidents occur among young males under the age of 25 years, their risk of death from traffic accidents is three times higher than that of females.

The report indicated that 48% of deaths caused by traffic accidents in the world occur among persons aged (15 to 44) years, and that injuries caused by traffic accidents represent the first cause of death for persons aged 15 to 29 years.
