Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the freezing of Russian assets by some Western countries will only lead to problems for those who do it.

The head of state spoke about this when speaking at the plenary session of the 1st Eurasian Economic Forum.

The Russian leader stressed that the violation of norms in the field of international finance and trade leads to negative consequences.

“Theft of other people's assets has never brought anyone to good, especially those who are engaged in this unseemly business.

Disregard for the interests of other countries in the field of politics and security, as it has now become clear, leads to chaos, to economic upheavals, and this affects the world globally, ”Putin explained.

Commenting on the withdrawal of a number of Western companies from the Russian market, the president noted that their already prepared niche could be occupied by Russian business.

“Yes, many have announced that they are leaving.

You know, sometimes you look at those who leave: maybe, thank God?

We will occupy their niches.

Nothing will change,” Putin said.

At the same time, those citizens who want to bring in luxury goods will be able to do so.

“I assure you, they will bring it from anywhere, from any country.

It doesn't matter to us.

For the country, for its development - I have already said and will repeat this - engineering centers, research centers are important, which are the basis of our own development.

This is what we should think about and what we should work on both within the framework of the EurAsEC, and in a broad sense with our partners - with those who want to cooperate with us, ”Putin stressed.

At the same time, the president said that Russia was not going to deal exclusively with import substitution and would develop its industry and technologies.

From this, according to the head of state, the country will only become stronger, especially in the field of high technologies.

Putin noted that Moscow understands the "enormous technological advantages" of developed economies and is not going to leave the global economic arena.

“They want to squeeze us out of there a little, but in the modern world this is simply unrealistic, impossible.

If we don’t separate ourselves with some kind of wall, then no one will be able to separate such a country as Russia, ”he stressed.

The head of state drew attention to the confidence of the Western countries that anyone objectionable who has his own point of view and is ready to defend it can be deleted from the world economy, politics, culture and sports.

To achieve this, according to the president, is impossible in the modern world.

Those countries that pursue such a policy, first of all, cause damage to themselves.

Putin also noted that there are more and more countries in the world that want and will pursue an independent policy, and it will not be possible to restrain this process with sanctions or bans.

“And no world gendarme will be able to stop this natural global process: no forces will be enough, but the desire will simply disappear, faced with problems within their countries.

I hope that the realization will come that this policy is absolutely futile,” he stressed.

In addition, the Russian leader noted that the sanctions affect all participants in the world market.

In particular, Putin pointed out that in countries with developed economies there has not been such inflation for 40 years.

“No matter how stable the economies of those countries that pursue such a short-sighted policy, the current state of the world economy shows that our position is correct and justified, even if you look at macroeconomic indicators.

These developed economies have not had such inflation in 40 years.

Unemployment is rising, chains are breaking, global crises are intensifying in such sensitive areas as, say, food.

These are not jokes, you understand, this is a serious thing that affects the entire system of economic and political relations, ”the president explained during his speech.
