President Yoon Seok-yeol announced the appointment of two additional ministerial candidates.

First of all, Park Soon-ae, a professor at Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Administration, was appointed as the Minister of Education.

Candidate Park, who was born in 1965 and served as a transition member of the 20th Presidential Transition Committee, has a good understanding of the political philosophy of the Yun Seok-yeol government, the presidential office said.

The presidential office explained the reason for appointing Park as an expert in public administration, as it was determined that he was the right person to improve the inefficiency of education administration and lead the implementation of the Yoon administration's key national tasks in the education field.

Kim Seung-hee, a former member of the National Assembly, was nominated as the Minister of Health and Welfare.

Candidate Kim, born in 1954, is a health and medical expert who has served as the head of the Food and Drug Administration and the Minister of Food and Drug Safety, the presidential office explained.

The presidential office said that candidate Kim is expected to contribute to the achievement of the Yoon administration's national tasks in the health and welfare field with his experience and expertise accumulated in the field, in the government, and in the National Assembly while serving as secretary of the National Assembly's Special Committee on COVID-19 Countermeasures.

Yoo-kyung Oh, dean of Seoul National University College of Pharmacy, was appointed as the Minister of Food and Drug Safety.
