During the period December – April, a total of 4,762 summer jobs were reported in Jönköping County.

That is 25 percent more than last year.

And despite the fact that summer is now looming around the corner, there are currently almost 36,000 summer jobs in Sweden left to apply for in Platsbanken.

Assistant nurse most common

Health and care dominate the range.

The most common summer job among those who have reported to the Swedish Public Employment Service is an assistant nurse.

- This corresponds to about one-fifth of the total number of jobs, says Alva Johansson.

But there are also plenty of summer jobs such as care assistant, carer and personal assistant left to apply for.

- Then we have also seen that there is a great need for staff in trade, but also cleaning, warehouses and restaurants, says Johansson.

According to Johansson, several of the occupations and occupational areas where there are many summer jobs are among those where there is a general lack of skills in the labor market.

What does it take to get a summer job?

- There is a fairly large spread in the competence requirements among the summer jobs that are out there, says Johansson.

- But we can also see that it is a great advantage to have a high school diploma, says Johansson.
