The care company writes on its website that the business must focus on the customer's conditions, needs and wishes and that today's and future services must be realized and developed with professional leadership and an innovative way of working.

"Gentle views from IVO"

But IVO's supervision gives a different picture of the reality at Björknäsgården in Boden - poor treatment, poor meal order and according to interviews, neither unit heads nor care staff knew what Lex Sarah meant.

- For us, this is history now.

We have rectified or are rectifying the points pointed out by IVO.

It is not remarkable in any way, but things we work with in our everyday lives.

We see this as mild views, otherwise IVO would call it serious criticism or really serious criticism, says communications manager Torbjörn Carlbom.

"Everyone should know what Lex Sarah is"

But that managers and staff do not know what Lex Sarah is - can not be called remarkable?

- It is a natural measure that we must take.

Everyone should know what Lex Sarah is.

Now that we have learned about that shortcoming, it is obvious that we are educating our employees about it.

What do you say about the criticism of a bad treatment, that a staff member should have said this to a patient: "No one has forced you to live here, you can move from here"?

- It is obvious that our employees should not act in that way, if it has now been stated, it is not acceptable.

But there is nothing that we judge to occur in general in the accommodation, but it is probably an individual case at some point, says Torbjörn Carlbom.

"The business must be audited"

Boden's municipal development manager Emma Strandberg was negatively surprised by IVO's criticism.

- It was a very boring information and it is important that they now come to terms with the shortcomings.

We will be forced to review the business so that we can ensure that the residents receive good care, she says.
