“In order to maintain the availability of sugar in the domestic market and a stable price for it in the country during the 2021-2022 season (October-September), the central government decided to introduce sugar export regulation from June 1, 2022,” the message says.

As specified in the ministry, the government will allow the export of sugar in the amount of up to 10 million tons.

The restriction is expected to remain in effect until October 31 or “until further notice.”

Earlier, India imposed a ban on the export of wheat.

Prior to this, it was reported that the Indian authorities revised the forecast for wheat production in 2021-2022, reducing it by 5.7%.
