At 6:03 am today (25th), three minutes after North Korea fired its first missile, President Yun Seok-yeol received a phone report from Kwon Young-ho, head of the Crisis Management Center.



Then at 7:35 am, he personally presided over the first National Security Council meeting of his tenure.



First of all, President Yoon ordered "maintain a readiness posture at all times so that there are no gaps in the security of the Republic of Korea."



He then directed practical measures such as "to thoroughly implement international sanctions against North Korea" and to strengthen the ROK-U.S. combined defense posture agreed upon by the leaders of the Republic of Korea and the United States.



Since then, South Korea and the United States military authorities have jointly responded by firing live surface-to-surface missiles.



The government also issued a statement condemning North Korea's provocations.
