China News Agency, Toronto, May 24 (Reporter Yu Ruidong) The Canadian government will provide Ukraine with another batch of military assistance such as ammunition worth about 98 million Canadian dollars.

Canadian Defense Minister Anand announced the news on May 24.

Canada will donate more than 20,000 rounds of 155mm NATO standard shells to Ukraine, which can be used for artillery equipment such as the M777 howitzer donated to Ukraine by Canada and other countries.

The Canadian side also provided training for the Ukrainian military on the use of related weapons.

Unlike the previous military equipment assistance provided by the Canadian military stockpile, the ammunition donated this time was purchased by the Canadian side from the United States.

The Canadian side said that it is striving to deliver the aid to the Uzbek side as soon as possible.

Since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Canada has provided several batches of military assistance to Ukraine.

That includes funding for artillery, Canadian-made drone cameras, high-definition satellite imagery, and more.

The Canadian government also earmarked $500 million in the new annual budget for military aid to Ukraine.

In addition, the first charter plane arranged by the Canadian government to take Ukrainians to Canada arrived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada from Poland on May 23.

The Canadian government recently arranged a total of three charter flights to provide Ukrainians with visas through the Canada-Ukraine Emergency Travel Authorization program on a first-come, first-served basis.

The remaining two charter flights will fly to Montreal, Quebec, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, in late May and early June.

Passengers who take a chartered flight can enjoy temporary accommodation of up to 14 nights provided by the Canadian official if they do not have suitable accommodation for the time being.

The Canada-Ukraine Emergency Travel Authorization program launched by the Canadian government allows Ukrainians and their immediate family members of any nationality to stay in Canada as temporary residents for three years.

The regular authorized stay for regular visitors is 6 months.

Applicants can apply for a 3-year open work visa or a study visa at the same time.

The Canadian side also exempts the above groups from many of the regular requirements related to general visitor visas or work visas.
