Bad news for the world of music.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler

has made a decision that has not only affected the band as a whole, but its thousands of fans as well.

Apparently,

after 12 years of abstinence

, the singer has decided to

enter rehab of his own free will

after a relapse of his drug addiction.

A setback in his health that has put his planned tour in check.

Thus, the followers of the legendary rock band will have to wait to see their idols, since both

the residency scheduled in Las Vegas

for this summer and the rest of the

concerts

have been

canceled

until further notice.

As reported by Aerosmith in an official statement through their social networks, the vocalist would have returned to his old ways, falling back on

his consumption of alcohol and illicit substances,

a new setback that would have led him to enter a clinic again to overcome his addiction, just as he did

for the first time in 1988.

"As many of you know, our dear brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years. After

foot surgery

to prepare for the stage and the need to

control the pain during the process,

has recently relapsed and has voluntarily entered a treatment program to focus on his health and recovery," the letter read.

And it is that, already in the year 2019, the interpreter of

Walk This Way confessed to

GQ

magazine

the struggle he has had to face to leave behind a life full of excesses.

"I have an addictive personality,

so I found certain drugs that I loved and did not stop to the point of

harming my children, my life, my family and my band,"

he confessed at the time.

Now, as the band has reported in the letter, they have been forced to cancel their tour of America, a series of concerts that were to begin next month with their show

Deuces are wild.

"We are very sorry to inform our fans and friends that

we must cancel

our first series of Las Vegas residency dates this June and July while (Steve Tyler) focuses on his well-being," the statement read.

Likewise, the musicians have communicated that they feel

devastated for failing their audience,

the one that has given them so much for so many years, although they have recognized that the most important thing is health: "Thank you for understanding and for supporting Steve during this time" .

Even with all of them, Aerosmith

will be back as soon as possible,

promising to keep their fans up to date with any updates.

"We will continue with our 2022 dates from September and we will inform you of any updates as soon as we can," the statement concluded.

Sad news for the music industry and for the musicians of the band, who have had to paralyze their agendas again after spending

2021 without stepping on stage

due to the pandemic.
