“In accordance with article 75 of the constitution and article 35 of the constitutional law on the government, the government is supposed to relinquish its powers to the newly elected president of the Republic of South Ossetia,” Prime Minister Gennady Bekoev was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying.
The terms of work of the resigned cabinet will be determined by the president.
Earlier it became known that the candidate for the presidency of South Ossetia and the leader of the party "Nykhas" Alan Gagloev won the presidential elections in the republic, gaining 56.09% of the vote.
The inauguration of Gagloev took place on May 24.
