“On the basis of reciprocity, personal restrictions are being imposed on 154 members of the House of Lords of the British Parliament,” the ministry said in a statement.

As explained in the Foreign Ministry, these persons made a direct contribution to the development of anti-Russian sanctions measures in London, aimed at creating conditions for the political isolation of Russia and the destruction of its economy.

They also used their authority to "incite anti-Russian hysteria in the UK" and "pander to the Russophobic policies of the British Conservative government."

The Foreign Ministry stressed that work on expanding the Russian "stop list" will continue.

Earlier, the UK imposed a ban on the import of silver, caviar and wood products from Russia.

Also, the authorities of the United Kingdom banned the import of Russian steel and iron.
