North Korea fired two ballistic missiles as soon as President Joe Biden left Japan yesterday (24th) after two countries tour.

Since North Korea has already completed preparations to launch an ICBM, an intercontinental ballistic missile, from the Sunan area in Pyongyang, it may be an ICBM.

Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a text message to the reporters at around 6 am today, "North Korea fired an unknown ballistic missile in the east direction."

He added that North Korea fired an additional launch at 6:52 a.m. a while ago.

Two shots were fired 50 minutes apart.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff has not released specific flight specifications such as range and altitude so far.

However, when the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced to the media and said that it was more broadly 'east' instead of 'East Sea', there are observations that it is a medium- and long-range missile.

In particular, the possibility of an ICBM is being raised as the South Korean and US intelligence authorities have been paying close attention to the trend of preparations to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile ICBM near Pyongyang Sunan Airfield until recently.

It is known that our military authorities have been preparing for the time from yesterday to today with the highest probability of launching an ICBM.

Today's launch took place the day after President Biden left Japan yesterday afternoon, who visited South Korea and Japan in turn.

It is also the first armed protest in four days of the Korea-US summit and the second provocation since the inauguration of the Yun Seok-yeol government.

It has been 13 days since the launch of three short-range ballistic missiles presumed to be 'super-large multiple rocket launchers' from the Sunan area of Pyongyang on the 12th, and it is the 17th armed protest this year.

If today's launch is finally confirmed as an ICBM, it is known that the ROK and U.S. military authorities will conduct joint response exercises such as missile firing and fighter sortie.

A large-scale joint South Korea-U.S. joint exercise is also expected to be held early next month, mobilizing US strategic assets such as aircraft carriers.
