According to Bessarab, such a decision will further ensure safety in the transportation of passengers.

“Because, unfortunately, during transportation in a taxi and public transport, the client is often left alone with the driver.

And this can threaten, let's say, with very serious troubles if the driver is inadequate or is set up for a criminal act.

Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of both Russian citizens and labor migrants, such a restriction is provided for,” the deputy added.

Earlier it became known that State Duma deputies adopted amendments in which drivers with a criminal record will be banned from working in taxis and public transport.

We are talking about an unexpunged or outstanding conviction under articles on murder, intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, kidnapping, robbery, robbery and crimes on sexual grounds.

Also, people with a criminal record will not be able to drive buses, trams, trolleybuses and drive subway trains.
