According to the study, 51% of American adults believe that the authorities should take steps to limit the damage to the US economy.

At the same time, 45% of respondents believe that the introduction of effective sanctions against Russia should be a top priority.

This could be a wake-up call for President Joe Biden, who on Saturday approved $40 billion in additional funding to help Ukraine.

The poll results "show low confidence that Biden can handle the situation," the authors write.

In March, inflation in the United States was 8.5% for the first time in 40 years. 

During a press conference, US President Joe Biden could not answer the question of one of the American journalists whether he considers himself and his administration responsible for the increase in prices.

He called COVID-19 and “the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin” the key causes of inflation.

Also, a member of the US House of Representatives, Rick Allen, said that the increase in fuel prices in the country is not related to the actions of the Russian authorities, but to the policies of Biden and his administration.
