The blast occurred outside a restaurant near St. Mary's Church.

Several windows on properties around Mariatorget have been damaged in connection with the explosion.

Also several windows at Mariakyrkan.

- There has been damage to some of the old fine stained glass windows, says Kristian Lillö, pastor of Helsingborg's pastorate.

Forced to close

It is above all the outer glass of the church that has been damaged, but also on the inside, some windows with unique mosaic paintings from 1959 have been smashed, causing glass shards on the floor inside the church.

Work is now underway to restore the windows.

- We have a booking tomorrow that will probably not take place.

It is sad and as soon as we can we will open the church, says Kristian Lillö.

High school is affected

Windows have also been smashed in one of the buildings where Procivitas upper secondary school is located.

Students are now limited to the other building, but schooling is ongoing as usual.
