The body of

Alberta Leeman,

a woman who disappeared in July 1978 without a trace, was found in a sunken car in the

Connecticut River (northeastern United States),

local media reported Monday.

The identity of the woman, who was 63 years old at the time of disappearance, was confirmed by

DNA tests,
