“In order to ensure reliable and safe transportation of goods along the Northern Sea Route, develop and approve a plan for the development of the Northern Sea Route for the period up to 2035,” the list of instructions on the Kremlin website says.

In January, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that the Northern Sea Route is under Russian jurisdiction, and decisions in this direction are made by the Russian Federation.
