In the clip above, you can see SVT Nyheter Väst's reporter test the method.
In March, the number of referrals to Sahlgrenska University Hospital's eating disorder care had doubled in two years.
- It continues to increase.
Maybe not quite at the same pace, but now we have this care debt, this gender that we have built up during the time that we really have to work to graze on, says Anne-Line Solberg, unit manager at the Eating Disorders Center.
Several digital tools
The idea of digital tools is not new, but during the pandemic the need became even greater.
Then the project was started, which has now resulted in a digital program for support, treatment and information about eating disorders.
This is, for example, an app where the patient can register what they have eaten and how it felt.
But also about animated films that the patient can watch, and then chat with a treating psychologist online.
In this way, one hopes to be able to save resources.
"Can not replace visits"
Do you know if it is just as good to have digital treatment?
- Quite a few patients say that it is not as good as meeting us in person, but there are other additional benefits.
To avoid getting here and to still be able to have a visit even if you have a cold.
But it can not completely replace a face-to-face visit, says Anne-Line Solberg.
