For the past two years, the Pirate Society has not been able to keep the announcement as usual at the pump house in Vollsjö due to the pandemic.
But this year, the announcement went according to tradition.
Fritiof Nilsson Piraten (1895-1972) was a lawyer and author.
He made his debut with "Bombi Bitt and I" in 1932.
Since 1989, the Pirate Prize has been awarded to cultural personalities who have worked in the spirit of the Pirate.
Since 2020, the prize money is SEK 150,000.
The winner will receive the prize during Pirate Day in Kivik in July.
