Ying Xiaowei announced the latest information. From April 1 to May 19 this year, a total of 4,865 people were diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia (excluding schools) in 31 first-level agencies, 12 district offices, and second-level agencies under the Taipei City Government.
Ying Xiaowei pointed out that there are about 14,000 colleagues in the Taipei City Government. According to statistics from the Personnel Department, this number is close to one-third of the total number of employees in the city government. Among them, 2,590 are still under management and 2,275 have been released.
She said that the top three units with the largest number of confirmed cases were the Environmental Protection Bureau with 643 people, the Taipei Municipal United Hospital with 557 people, and the Mass Rapid Transit Company with 469 people.
Ying Xiaowei said that the staff of these bureaus are all city staff who are on the front line serving the general public, so the risk of infection is relatively high.
