“During the investigation into the circumstances of the incident, the police officers identified and detained the perpetrators.

They turned out to be 61-year-old and 49-year-old local residents,” the statement said.

As it became known to the police, one of the detainees hired an excavator in search of scrap metal, during excavations the driver damaged the water supply system, which caused a utility accident.

Earlier it was reported that about 30 thousand people in the city of Orsk, Orenburg region, were left without cold water due to a utility accident that occurred due to the actions of illegal metal dealers.

Later, the supply of cold water was restored in the city.
