Turkish Foreign Ministry summons the US ambassador

The Turkish Anadolu Agency reported today, Sunday, that the Foreign Ministry summoned the American ambassador.

She added that the Foreign Ministry informed the ambassador of its dissatisfaction with a statement issued by the embassy prior to the start of protests in Istanbul yesterday.

In response to the US statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry recommended, today, Sunday, its citizens residing in the United States to be careful while organizing large demonstrations and events in their place of residence.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry indicated that there had been cases of the use of live bullets, electric shocks, and the use of gas in dispersal of protests, despite the US security forces taking precautions in protests in such gatherings.
