The UAE presents its "Al Dar Aman" initiative at a conference in Cairo

The Conference on Combating the Trafficking and Illicit Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons begins on Monday in Cairo under the co-chairmanship of the League of Arab States and the European Union.

The United Arab Emirates is participating in the conference, which comes within the second phase of the cooperation project between the League of Arab States and the European Union within the framework of the strategic dialogue between them.

On the second day of the conference, Mohammed Suhail Al Neyadi, Director General of the Office of Weapons and Dangerous Materials of the Supreme Council for National Security, will present the UAE initiative to register weapons, "Al-Dar Aman".

During the three-day conference at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, the experiences of some other Arab countries such as Egypt, Iraq and Mauritania will be reviewed, as well as the vision of the Interpol and World Trade Organization and the Small Arms Survey Program on how the international transfer of these weapons and how to identify and disrupt their sources and the importance of Border control and the need for regional cooperation in this field.
