The prices of condominiums in Sundsvall have increased by +11.9 percent in the last twelve months and the average price in the municipality is SEK 1.2 million.

- Many people may turn their backs when you buy something for a million, but that's how it looks in Sundsvall and we are on the rise all the time, says Mattias Jacobsson, real estate agent.

It is no secret that young people find it difficult to enter the housing market, especially in larger cities.

Youth housing trip

The bank requires a 15 percent cash deposit to borrow for a home and when prices often exceed one million, you as a buyer need to pay several hundred thousand out of your own pocket.

The question of how more young people should enter the housing market has grown in line with prices and an investigation is currently on the Government's table to facilitate young people's housing journey.

Controlled by the price

Rasmus Näslund and Ellen Kunalic are both 21 years old and have several wishes regarding their first joint accommodation.

But everything is governed by the price and since they want to live centrally in Sundsvall, they are aware that it can drag away.

- The size and price are the most important, says Ellen Kunalic, 21, who is supported by future cohabitant Rasmus.

- It is noticeable now that it is on display, that there is a lot of interest.

So that's something you're thinking about.

How much you have to pay, says Rasmus Näslund, 21.
