The police were alerted at 03.30 on Sunday night.
The suspected attempted rape and assault is said to have taken place inside a home, but the man was arrested outside.
The police needed to use both hand and foot imprisonment to get control of the man.
He was too drunk to be questioned in a legally secure manner.
Prosecutor contacted
At 09.30 on Sunday he was still arrested and prosecutors are contacted.
But the man has not been arrested.
The police have not said what injuries the woman has received, but according to the police spokesperson, she did not need to go to the ambulance to the hospital.
