Lindner drew attention to the fact that states based on the rule of law must guarantee the inviolability of private property.

“The difficulties associated with confiscation are extremely high,” TASS quoted him as saying.

The head of the German Finance Ministry believes that Russian businessmen need to be convinced of the need to contribute "to the payment of reparations to Ukraine on a voluntary basis."

He offered to hold a political discussion on this issue, noting that he was ready to participate in it.

Earlier, the government of Ukraine approved a document according to which Russian assets on the territory of the country become the property of the state.
