It is enough for one of NATO's 30 member states to say no for Sweden's NATO application to be stopped.

Turkey makes a number of difficult-to-digest demands on Sweden.

The country demands that Sweden stamp the YPG, the armed Kurds in Syria who are fighting IS.

According to Turkey, the YPG is a cover for the Kurdish party PKK, which is branded terrorist throughout the EU.

Turkey also believes that Sweden must extradite 16 people who, according to Turkey, have links to the Kurdish parties PKK, HDP and the Islamic Gülen movement.

A third demand from Turkey is that Sweden lift the arms embargo that was introduced three years after Turkey's offensive against the YPG in Syria.

"Agreed that they disagree"

The Swedish Prime Minister and the President of Turkey spoke by telephone on Saturday and "agreed that they disagree", according to the president's chief adviser, Ilnur Cevic.

- There are issues that require quick action, but Swedish laws prevent Sweden from doing something, they say.

According to Cevik, the most important requirement for Turkey is that Sweden acts against the PKK and the YPG.

- Sweden must stop giving refuge to PKK terrorists and their supporters.

We see the YPG as a terrorist organization, a continuation of the PKK.

"Give it a couple of months"

Turkey wants to see both written guarantees and action, says Ilnur Cevic.

Do you think it is possible to find a solution?

- It depends on Sweden.

Until now, it has been difficult because time is limited.

But give it a couple of months and I think it is possible to find a solution.
