The crash of a passenger plane on Saturday in the Belledonne massif (Isère) killed five people, including four members of the same family, confirms Eric Vaillant, prosecutor of Grenoble.

On board were the 66-year-old pilot and a 57-year-old woman.

She had come with a friend and her two grandchildren, an 11-year-old boy and his 14-year-old cousin.

It was the first flight of this family, domiciled in Grenoble.

The bodies of the victims, badly burned, were extracted from the plane late Saturday evening.

They were transported to the funeral home and will undergo an autopsy on Sunday afternoon.

The plane crash, of the Cessna type, took place shortly after takeoff, at 4:50 p.m., near the town of Adrets (Isère).

The Grenoble public prosecutor's office co-seized the investigation from the Isère gendarmerie group, the BGTA and the SRBGTA (air transport gendarmerie).

The circumstances of the accident are still unknown.
