North Korean leader Kim Jong-un pays condolences to Marshal Hyon Chol-hae, who was a key member of the military under the Kim Jong-il regime, who died on the 19th.
Chairman Kim expressed his deep condolences at the burial place of Marshal Hyun Chol-hae, which was prepared at the April 25 Cultural Center yesterday (20th), the Korean Central News Agency reported.
Chairman Kim said, "In the struggle to defend and defend the great leader for decades, he has fully demonstrated his heroism and sacrifice." He said, "I dedicated myself to the achievement of strengthening and developing a faithful revolutionary armed force that only follows the leadership of the People's Republic of China."
"The loss of comrade Hyun Chol-hae is an irreparable loss for our party, army and people," he said.
Chairman Kim looked at the remains of his deceased and made a sad expression on his face and then wept.
It was also revealed that each of the bereaved families was holding hands and comforting them.
Chairman Kim directly served as the director of the National funeral committee, and he was treated with utmost respect, such as placing the remains of Hyon Chol-hae in an exceptional manner at the April 25 Cultural Center rather than the Pyongyang Seojang Gurakbu, a private funeral rite for high-ranking North Korean officials.
There is a special connection that Hyeon Cheol-hae was his 'succession class' teacher, but there seems to be an intention to strengthen internal solidarity by showing courtesy to the national elders amidst the chaos of the public due to the recent spread of Corona 19.
Hyon Chol-hae was a key figure in the military who served as a member of the Politburo, Central Committee, and Central Military Commission in the Workers' Party of Korea, and is said to have played an important role in Kim Jong-il's control of the military.
