East Timor adopts "Human Fraternity" as a national document

East Timor President Jose Ramos-Horta expressed his happiness at the adoption by his country's parliament of the Human Fraternity Document as a national document and inclusion in the education curricula in his country.

“Today I am overjoyed to have succeeded in playing a small role in adopting this historic document of human fraternity as a national document that was voted unanimously by our national parliament, and this is very rare,” Ramos Horta said, in a speech at his inauguration as President of East Timor. The United Arab Emirates and East Timor, working together to make the world better through the concepts of human brotherhood and solidarity, as we work for a world free of conflict, tension and violence.

Horta praised the UAE, which is a model for peace and tolerance.

For his part, Counselor Muhammad Abd al-Salam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, stressed in his speech that the decision taken by East Timor today makes it a model and an oasis of coexistence, expressing his hopes that many countries will emulate this decision in our challenging world.

He said that President Ramos Horta, who was a member of the jury of the Zayed International Prize for Human Fraternity 2022 and the winner of the 1996 Nobel Peace Prize, possesses the values ​​of human fraternity, vision, energy and determination to achieve human fraternity.
