Amie Ringberg has an electric car and lives just outside Torsås community.

She commutes by car every day to her job in Borgholm.

Today, she is an active politician within the Green Party in Torsås, which she was not when she wrote her citizens' proposal in August 2019.

Only two seats

In short, her citizens' proposal to the municipality was about the need to build more public charging posts in the municipality.

Now there are only two places that, in addition to being difficult to find, are often blocked by ordinary cars with petrol or diesel.

- It is about charging infrastructure for electric cars where I urge the municipality to ensure that charging infrastructure and charging posts for electric cars are built in Torsås municipality, says Ami Ringborg (MP)

"Not surprised"

Ami Ringborg submitted her citizen proposal to the municipality in August 2019 and received her response on April 11 this year, 2022. Ami Hedborg had her proposal rejected.

About the long wait, she says this:

- I was not surprised, I have sent in more citizen proposals and then it has also taken a long time to get an answer.

In the clip here, Torsås municipal councilor Henrik Henrik Nilsson Bokor (S) talks about why Ami Ringberg had to wait for an answer.

Torsås municipal councilor on the criticism "It should not take so long"

The municipality of Torsås has now changed its routines so that a citizen proposal can take a maximum of six months, or in some cases up to one year.
