The President of Niger prevents his government ministers from marrying a second wife!

In a "strange" decision of its kind, Niger President Mohamed Bozuma decided to prevent his government ministers from marrying a second wife.

Bozuma waved, dismissing those who choose polygamy, as he announced his decision before a women's gathering, hinting that "the decision may not satisfy everyone."

According to observers, the decision will not be acceptable to dreamers of polygamy in the African country known as minors' marriage, which makes nostalgia possible for the era of his predecessor, former President Mohamed Issoufou, who had two wives.

The President of Niger, while addressing the crowd, which was mostly women, did not hide that his speech carried a "risk", as his ministers demanded in a video clip of his speech last Friday, which was met with warm applause by feminists, to set an example to follow.

He said, "As long as you are in my government, you are prohibited from taking an additional wife... A minister who wants to marry another wife is not prohibited, but he must leave the government."

Bozma's decision, which did not provoke a reaction among the ministers concerned with it, caused an uproar in public opinion in Niger, according to "Sky News Arabia", at a time when the government is seeking to reduce population growth, in a country with a population of more than 24 million people, according to World Bank statistics. .

In the same speech, the Nigerian president stressed that his country "faces a real demographic problem that represents a major obstacle to the country's development," referring to statistics on the dangers of unbridled demographic growth.
