Magnitude 5.6 earthquake in northern Morocco

The Driouch region, north of the Kingdom of Morocco, was subjected to an earthquake measuring 5.6 degrees, on the Richter scale.

The National Institute of Geophysics announced the recording of the earthquake, today, Friday, along the coast of Driouch Province, according to the Moroccan News Agency.

The institute said in a statement: "This tremor, whose epicenter was located along the coast of the Driush region, occurred at 1:35 p.m."

The institute explained that "the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 17 km, and it occurred at the confluence of latitude 35,592 degrees north and longitude 3.625 degrees west."
