The Association of Digging Journalists' annual conference takes place this year in Luleå and began on Friday.

There are 500 participants from all over Sweden who can choose between 50 program points.

And then the so-called gold spade is also divided into eight different classes.

"Many new reviews"

Excavation General Carrie Söderberg believes that it is an important democracy issue that power is examined.

- This green transition and all major establishments that take place in the north means that it is more important than ever that journalists in the county and the country examine what is happening.

That is why it is so good that this year's conference is in Luleå.

I think you can expect quite a few reviews from Norrbotten's media company after this, she says and continues:

- A colleague of mine usually says that it is very easy to review, as long as you are stubborn and do not give up.

"The basis of all journalism"

Luleå journalist and conference participant Bo Torbjörn Ek believes that digging is the basis for all journalism.

- You find out a malpractice and demand a responsibility and hopefully it leads to an improvement as well, he says.
