The composition of the new French government is finally known.

This Friday, May 20, 2022, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne delivered the list of her ministers, almost a month after the re-election of Emmanuel Macron as president and three weeks before the June legislative elections.

This government casting was closely scrutinized, it was announced this Friday, May 20.

A government which should then expand, in particular with secretaries of state, at the beginning of the summer, in the light of the results of the legislative elections.

In the meantime, certain ministers such as Bruno Le Maire (Economy, Finance), Gérald Darmanin (Interior), and Eric Dupont-Moretti (Justice) have been renewed.

New faces have arrived: Pap Ndiaye at Education or Brigitte Bourguignon, Minister of Health and Prevention.

Jean-Yves Le Drian (Europe and Foreign Affairs) and Florence Parly (Armies) were replaced respectively by Catherine Colonna, former French ambassador to London, and Sébastien Lecornu.

Agnès Pannier-Runacher, formerly Deputy Minister in charge of Industry, inherits the Ministry of Energy Transition.

Amélie de Montchalin, becomes Minister of Ecological Planning and Territories.

The first Council of Ministers will be held on Monday May 23 around President Emmanuel Macron.
