China News Service, Beijing, May 20 (Reporter Li Jingze) Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin hosted a regular press conference on May 20.

A reporter asked questions about US President Biden's trip to Asia.

Wang Wenbin: We have noticed that Sullivan, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs of the United States, said recently that President Biden's trip to Asia is not a confrontation with China. It is not a plan to split and confront; to build an open and inclusive circle of friends in the Asia-Pacific instead of piecing together a closed and exclusive circle; to do more things that are conducive to peace and development in the Asia-Pacific, rather than creating turmoil and chaos in the Asia-Pacific.

Regarding the "Indo-Pacific Economic Framework", China believes that any regional cooperation framework should conform to the trend of the times for peace and development, enhance mutual trust and cooperation among regional countries, and should not target or harm the interests of third parties, and should not have obvious selectivity and exclusivity.
